W.a.s.p. at Moore Theatre

W.A.S.P. has been entertaining fans with their special brand of shock rock and metal since their formation in the early 1980s. From the ashes of the Los Angeles heavy metal scene came a band whose phenomenal visuals, theatrics, verses, and live concerts laughed in the face of tradition and in the process winning over audiences from all over America and Europe.

Blackie Lawless, Randy Piper, Rik Fox, and Tony Richards were the original members of the band. Lawless, the protagonist, was beloved by his followers despite his tendency to shock them with outrageous antics that involved raw meat, barely dressed women, drinking blood from a skull, and midevil torture devices. Their lyrics, which were emotionally and politically charged and created controversy over topics like drugs, sex, and religion, and the two things together, really resonated with fans everywhere.

They released their self-titled debut album in 1984. However, their first single, "Animal (F*ck Like a Beast)," was so disagreeable with the status quo of the time that it had to be removed from the album so it could be retailed in U.S. stores, but that didn't stop it from being sold in huge numbers. That album went on to chart in several countries, including the US, the UK, Finland, Canada, and Sweden. While the band has released 16 incredible studio albums, like "The Crimson Idol" and "Inside the Electric Circus," their sophomore offering remains one of the most referred to of their works, called The Last Command, and some of their best singles to date are “Wild Child” and “Blind in Texas.” Of course, you can expect to hear all of the fan favorites at this show.

Being at this W.A.S.P. concert is a chance to see shock rock and heavy metal at their finest, as the band is well known to put out some of the most exhilarating shows that really get the crowds pumping. It's going to be an exciting adventure that you won't soon forget. Tickets are available here and should be purchased immediately before they run out.
