Joe Satriani’s 2022 tour will include his backup band comprised of Bryan Beller on bass guitar, Kenny Aronoff on Drums, and Rai Thistlethwayte on keyboard. The show’s setlist is expected to include a generous number of tracks from Elephants of Mars, as well as a number of hits and fan favorites from his 18-album strong discography. Satriani’s influence on the music scene is unprecedented. The guitar virtuoso has mastered numerous techniques, including arpeggios legatos, two-handed tapping, swells, and many more. He has heavily influenced the next generation of guitarists. Satriani has received numerous accolades, including Outstanding Guitarist at the California Music Awards in 1991, a Maestro Award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, and 15 Grammy Award nominations for categories Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
Some of Satriani’s most notable work are his albums; Surfing with Aliens, which produced radio hits; Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards, which peaked at number 5 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Unstoppable Momentum, which peaked at number 1, Shockwave Supernova, which peaked at number 3, and What Happens Next, which peaked at number 2. However, his most commercially-successful record is his fourth studio album, Extremist. The record features singles that performed remarkably well on the Mainstream Rock charts, such as “Summer Song,” “Friends,” and “Cryin’.” The album was later certified Gold in the U.S. and France.
