Okay Seattle! Gather round and listen real closely. We’ve got demons, we’ve got all the dry British wit you need, and we’ve got a one-way ticket to Hell — and we’re so not complaining about it — ‘cause The Screwtape Letters is hitting the Moore Theatre this November on Saturday the 1st. And yes, we planned it for a Saturday night so you can get all clean at church the next morning - you’re welcome for that. This that kind of show that’ll make you laugh, then pause, then laugh again because… yikes, it might be about you. And that’s the fun of it. It’s sneaky-smart and sneakily spiritual. Not preachy, just sharp. And so cool to see onstage.

Based on the iconic satirical novel by C.S. Lewis (yeah, the same guy who made Narnia FYI), this show is a dark comedy with way too much charm for something set in the underworld. It’s a 90-minute ride through and social critique on human nature, spiritual mischief, and the very weird things we all do to sabotage ourselves — but from the perspective of literal demons. You’ll laugh. You’ll squirm with us in the GA seats. Gosh, you might even rethink that passive-aggressive text you sent earlier to your boo (and yeah - Screwtape would be proud). The whole thing is staged like a very fancy infernal office — think velvet, shadows, and bureaucratic evil — and centers around Screwtape, a sharply dressed demon uncle mentoring his absolute disaster of a nephew, Wormwood. Wormwood’s job? Corrupt one human soul. Screwtape’s job? Roast him for doing it badly. It’s a crazy ride no doubt - filled with its brainy and oddly touching 90 minute play, and it never stops being funny the entire way through. 

And listen, this isn’t just a one-man show y’all. This performance has been selling out in cities all over the country because it’s just that clever. Whether you’re into philosophy, theatre, theology, or just like watching fancy evil guys monologues in crisp suits, this is a wildly good time. Also, bonus: there’s no intermission, so no risk of you getting distracted by your phone and missing Screwtape delivering an absolutely brutal burn about the human ego.
