The album “Dark Side of the Moon” was released in 1973 by the famous indie progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Even after 50 years since its release, the album remains the third best-selling of all time, just behind Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and AC/DC’s “Back in Black”. Even though the album featured sensitive topics about money, politics, mental health and a more “psychedelic” sound, themes considered taboo in the 1970s, the album became Pink Floyd’s official claim to international stardom. The album has remained timeless and indeed left a significant impact on the music industry.
The album's legacy in the music industry has persisted to this day, and the Seattle Rock Orchestra will be reimagining the iconic album through their signature sound. The Seattle Rock Orchestra is a rock band that considers themselves to be “musical misfits” because they incorporate rock elements into their orchestra performances and primarily hold performances that honor iconic artists in the music industry. The orchestra has also collaborated with several known acts, such as rapper Macklemore and two-time Grammy award-winning songwriter Elvis Costello.
