Gov’t Mule is on the verge of another incredible milestone. The band, founded by former Allman Brothers members Warren Haynes and Allen Woody, has made a significant impact on the rock and jam band scene. As the band enters its third decade in the industry, Haynes, along with band members Matt Abts, Danny Louis, and Kevin Scott, keeps the legacy alive. The band also delivers new material to fans as they dropped their latest album, Peace… Like a River.
This 2024, Gov’t Mule celebrates their 30th year with 13 shows across the U.S. The 30 Years Strong Tour kicks off in February and will make a highly-awaited stop at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington. The band is slated to deliver songs from their vast discography. Gov’t Mule released their phenomenal self-titled debut album in 1995. By 2001, the band had released their fourth studio effort, The Deep End, Volume 1, which made its debut on the Billboard 200 upon landing at number 128. Over the years, Gov’t Mule started gaining traction on the Billboard charts. By 2006, their seventh studio album, High & Mighty, peaked at number 3 on the Top Independent Albums and number 62 on the Billboard 200.
In 2013, Gov’t Mule released the highly-acclaimed album, Shout! which entered the charts in several countries, including landing at number 32 in the U.S. The album, which was revered for its classic rock sound, is arguably their best studio effort and was recorded to be their highest charting entry on the Billboard 200.
For their 30th anniversary tour, fans can look forward to a myriad of music styles. Gov’t Mule has been known to perform classic blues rock, southern, and funk. They’ve also entertained fans with their iconic on-stage improvisations and extended solos. The band’s love for legendary band Pink Floyd will also be evident when they belt out some notable covers. The band is fresh from completing their Dark Side of the Mule Tour. But they may still surprise fans by performing some Pink Floyd staples.
