Salif Keita [CANCELLED] at Moore Theatre

Salif Keita is bringing the party to the USA this year with his 2022 USA Summer Tour, ready and waiting to give vibrant concerts full of his famous, bright vocals, unique sense of groove and distinctive traditional West African music with influences from Europe and the Americas. Keita has built a reputation for being an honest, open artist and has become ‘The Golden Voice of Africa’, not just for his music but for his charity work for people with the condition albinism, which he has himself. Keita has a wealth of material in his music catalogue and some of his top songs, such as ‘Madan’, ‘Wamba’ and ‘Tekere’, have become classic African pop hits, and celebrate the culture as well as acknowledging the ‘groove’ that other styles can bring. His latest release was in 2018 and titled, ‘Un Autre Blanc’, marking the return of his masterful song writing and singing after a 5-year absence. The album also promotes the cause of Albinos in Africa, and the wonderful blend of his enchanting voice, outstanding band and star guests, such as MHD, Ladysmith Black and Angélique Kidjo, have marked it as one of his best releases.
